How to rid the “Your computer might be at risk” popup box in XP
Have you ever got a message from a pop of box located by your computer clock that says “your computer might be at risk, antivirus software might not be installed, Click this balloon to fix the problem”. There is a alternative to solving this problem whereby you do not need to edit your computer registry. We are going to make a simple change in the Windows Security Center Settings to disable the popup.
Take these steps to rid that securitywarning message:
Let’s start by clicking on the Start button and going straight to the Control Panel. Now click on the Security Center Link and open it.

At this point, the Windows Security Center Box will open.

Now look at the left side of the Windows Security Center and there should be a Resources Tab. Now under the
Resource Tab, look for the “Change the way Security Center alerts me” and click on it to open.
Once you click on the “Change the way Security Center alerts me” , a Alert Settings box will appear.
At this point is where you will uncheck the “Virus Protection” box and press OK.
